It was actually quite liberating to draw in her style, there’s so much movement to the point where I don’t think I actually got it. My work has been really stiff lately so I did this to loosen up :)

Trying a new trick of shading from Chira Chira of my superhero the Specter. I kind of like the effect on the face but I would have to keep tweaking the hair … I also feel like some of her style may have rubbed off on this drawing as well. Also gave him super freckles on accident … he doesn’t usually have that much.

So just because Johnny Depp is going to be in the new Tim Burton remake of Dark Shadows I have become addicted to watching the old 1966 soap opera! It’s actually scary how much I love this soap because I usually hate them and Dark Shadows is so slow but I can easily see how Tim can make it into a film. The show is all build up, it really is the predecessor for every soap opera on television today. It really bugs me that they are only 20 min. long each episode before I know it I’m already having to move just to change for the next episode … I think I’m up to episode 30 something. I love the writing, they keep it exactly as if they were writing a gothic novel, it’s insane the level of craft that went into this show. Anyway did a drawing of Johnny as Barnabas Collins, the pics online somewhere.
